The Evans EMAD 16 inch Kick Drumhead

It can be a bit of a mission to find a 16 inch kick drumhead, simply because such small kicks are rare and the smallest heads you can find are usually 18 inchers. 16 inch kicks actually only came about because more and more drummers started to repurpose their floor tom, sticking it on its side to serve as a tight kick. The downside of using a floor tom lies in the tension hoop. Bass drums have a thick, wooden hoop, while floor toms have thin metal hoops. As such, Meinl have thoughtfully developed 16 inch kick drumheads that fit both, and this 16 incher is compatible with standard bass drum hoops.

Please note: Evans changed the logo on the drumhead in the middle of 2019. Up until then, 'Level 360' was also printed on the surface. You may receive a drumhead with or without the updated logo, but apart from that they're exactly the same. The box was also updated at the end of 2019.
